Hi, I have a brand new TP177A and WinCC Flexible 2005 SP1 (running on Win XP SP2). I am trying to download an application with different adapters and different communication settings but not succeeded so far. I have USB/PPI Multimaster cable (6ES7 901-3DB30-0XA0) and also PC adapter USB (6ES7 972-0CB20-0XA0). Tried on PC adapter PPI, MPI, Profibus, tried on PC/PPI cable (PPI) etc through PG>PC interface. HMI was put in transfer mode. CH2 with MPI/DP option is being used (there is only one physical port but it gives two options, serial on CH1 and MPI/DP on CH2), diffrent Baud rates tried. Nothing is working. I can connect to the CPU 317F PN/DP through the PC adapter so I know that is working. May be I'm missing some important steps or sequence! Any ideas?

Don't bother guys, I did it. Used PC adapter on MPI, CH2 on HMI, could download. Things look brighter now, for a while...

Last I heard you could not program the TP177 with the USB multi-master cable, only the older serial cable or the new serial cable with the switches set to emulate the old serial cable.

Sorry Crossbow, I didn't catch your question! Well, here is what I did, I used PC adapter USB (6ES7 972-0CB20-0XA0), set PG>PC interface on MPI, 1.5Mbps. Activated Channel 2 on TP177A, MPI, 1.5 Mbps, station number changed to 10 from default 1. On WinCC flex, transfer setting, Mode selected was MPI/DP, station address 10 and the download worked. Hope this clarifies!

Ben, That was true with the TP177micro but now you can download with the usb ppi cable as long as you have a cable that is e-stand 4 or higher and microwin 4.0.4.16 or higher. The TP177A & B's were designed for the S7-3/4's so MPI is the only way to download to them but the micro was design just for the 200's.
