preed Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 Hi I have an E50 connected to FX1s that's been in service for about five years. Unfortunately, the membrane keypad is gone so I have to replace the E50. I just receieved the new unit, but I can't download the program to it. The E50 is not something that I'm used to, so I'm not sure if I'm using the correct cable or my PC comm port is setup correctly. The info that came with the unit, is pretty lame. The cable I'm trying to use is the same one that I use to program the FX1s, FX2n, etc. Can anyone shed a little light on this? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks heaps in advance! Perry
Bluemaster Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 Hello, I know very little about your problem however I did find this www http://www.meau.com/eprise/main/Web_Site_P...ERIES_Terminals This appears to have answer some of you questions it mentions e50 cabeling and software. Any chance the info is archieved somewhere? Best of luck.
FNMdeJong Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 You cannot use the same cable for programming the E50 and the FX1S or FX2N PLC. See the cable layout for the correct pin layout. You need a CAB5 cable for programming by RS232 on E50, and a CAB6 cable when using the RS422 port. Attached the cable layout for CAB5. CAB5__RS232__PC__092002_.pdf
