BobLfoot Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 If this looks like a dsylexick wrote it that is because my forehead still hurts from slapping myself. I have been trying to find tags in the tag dictionary of an existing wonderware application for a week or more now. WHen I opulled up the dictionary it showed about 6 tags there should be 1000's. The filter at the bottom was * so that should give me all right? WRONG Homer. -- Click the (...) button and you'll see that * means "*ABC12*VFD*" so you only get tags with ABC12 and VFD in them. Writing this so no one else gets burned like I did -- I hope. Quote
rajsiyer Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 Thanks John; Especially because I've used InTouch for years and years but have not looked at that filter. Now thanks to you, I know to use it Raj S. Iyer Have a good day. Quote
Sleepy Wombat Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 Havn;t used Intouch for years... But what has got be buggered is that why would it represent "*ABC12*VFD*" ? How was the braniac who decided that ? Is it customisable ? Quote
kutuz Posted May 8, 2007 Report Posted May 8, 2007 As I know the default InTouch filter is "<none>", it shows all the tags. All other filters are user-made, so as "*". Sometimes I create my new filter with name beggining with "_", because it stay first in the filter list and this filter now is using as first, so I see only these tags that relate to this filter and I can easily modify only needed tags. After modifying I just delete this filter. Quote
TonyK Posted May 24, 2007 Report Posted May 24, 2007 Absolutely! Certainly invaluable when you have 1000's of tags going, and a decent tag convention. As I understand it, it's saved as part of the application, and yeah the last filter is the one shown first .. Quote
