citect textbox to database

Hi all, I am using Citect scada 6.0 and trying to write texts (which i want to assign as label names)to database file (.dbf) which i get from text boxes as input and then read these texts and show them in labels. (I mean variable labels that user can assign) I couldnt make it work. Can anybody help me? About computer configuration, device setup and how to use textboxes to get the strings as input and write them to the database, and also read them? I am new citect user and I need urgent help.
