Guest HeyDude Posted October 27, 2003 Report Posted October 27, 2003 Hey all, What ya'll recommend on the easiest and preferably cheapest way to get DB stuff with PLCs? I see there are some products like LookoutDirect and some other custom written VB stuff but just curious on what ya'll think, Peace, Mike
Guest EvilInside78 Posted October 30, 2003 Report Posted October 30, 2003 You could do some VB programming where it'll look for the serial port on the PLC or make a WinSock control that'll poll the PLC for data and use Active Data Objects to do stuff with the database. But that's a lot of work and you might be better off getting some off-the-shelft product. One example is dataWorx PLC Pro by www.inteworx.net it's pretty neat but it does require some ladder logic programming. Hope that helps, Todd Overmeyer
