EE2007 Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 Has anyone had any experience upgrading LM90 to Machine Edition? If so, can you give me some tips on making the transition as seamless as possible? Thanks,
RussB Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 (edited) 1. Put the Supplemental CD in and view the tutorials on it, even the ones that you may not use. They will give you a "feel" for the SW. 2. You will need all of your LM90 apps up-to-date and you can not import backups. So try to install Proficy ME on the same PC as LM90 or copy all programs that you will be importing to a network drive that you can access from your PME PC. 3. Get to know all of the PME 'Windows' especially 'Navigator', 'Companion', ToolChest, and 'Inspector' 4. Take your time and get to know the new tools that you have, they will save you a ton of time in the future. 5. Do not assume that everything will work just like it did in LM90, most does but there are many new short-cuts available. Even a couple of things that you can not do, like side files. But LM90 does not have the ToolChest. 6. Learn how to use the ToolChest, one of the tutorials. 7. Have fun with it. Edited April 13, 2007 by RussB
