Industrial Ethernet CP343-1

Dear Fellows i try to configure Industrial Ethernet module (CP 343-1EX21) with S7 318-2DP Cpu and already online with Step7 thru this CP343. Then I try with another laptop to online with Cpu thru MPI port but it not possible until i go offline with the first laptop which online thru CP343. Is it true i cant online at the same time with one Cpu with Step7 via 2 laptop? Another problem i have everytime when Cpu OFF and ON again, this CP343 go to Error mode (SF light ON). Is it i have to write some blocks in Cpu to restore back CP343 setting (IP address etc) everytime Cpu OFF and ON again? regards dsc

Hi dsc. I dont have much experience with 318. It is basically an S7-400 CPU in S7-300 guise. About not being able to be online from two PCs at the same time. It should be possibe. But I havent fumbled with this myself. One thing you can do is to modify the connection resources so that there are 2 fixed "PG" connections. About the problem with the CP faulting on power cycle. You can go online with STEP7 and check the Hardware Diagnostics. The CP343-1 will come up and you then browse further to view the diagnostic buffer on the CP343-1. Hopefully it will tell you exactly what the problem is. One guess could be that if you are running without a MC card and battery, so the HW Configuration is lost on every power cycle.

Check if configuration of CP343 is stored on the CPU. This is made in CP343 options tab in HW Config. If not every time you power cycle PLC, CP can lost it's configuration.
