BobLfoot Posted May 13, 2007 Report Posted May 13, 2007 The company i work for {fortune 500] just finished switching our plant to a new warehouse and purchasing software. We are site six to get this software and I still found a half dozen links that where faulty and needed patching. You would think a major company would not agree to beta test somebody elses software, boy am I confused and dazed. Quote
OkiePC Posted May 13, 2007 Report Posted May 13, 2007 My previous employer did something similar...writing requisitions used to take 5 minutes on the antique (non-wiondows) system, but now it takes about 45 minutes and usually gets screwed up by the "central" purchasing system. The approval paths were all fubar'd too. That company is one that seems to think that once they spend a bunch of money there is no turning back, no matter how bad the idea turns out to be... Quote
Clay B. Posted May 13, 2007 Report Posted May 13, 2007 I shudder everytime a product salesman walks into my boss's office. Can not count the number of times I heard "the salesman said this wouold improve our production". Guess the fact it would have to violate a dozen laws of physics doesn't seem to matter. My latest and probably all time favorite. A inline partical counter for hydrolic oil on a mold machine. Sounds good until you realize that the partical counter can not tell the difference between an air bubble in the oil and a partical. Seems to me that that one issue would elimate it from being used inline with a pump. Well atleast it looks and sounds impressive. Quote
