Chapapa Posted May 31, 2007 Report Posted May 31, 2007 Hi people. I'm a newbie in PLCs, and I have this project which will be using FX1S-30MR-ES/UL. What I want to ask is: why are there 3 S/S terminals on the input side of this PLC? Can I just use 1 of them to manage the sink/source mode for all the input terminals? Another question is, is my understanding on the following correct? Based on the hardwiring manual for the mitsubishi PLCs, for the FX 30MR, COM0 must be connected to 0V/24V in order to use Y0 output, COM1 for Y1, COM2 for Y2-Y5, COM3 for Y6, 7, 10 & 11 and COM4 for Y12-15. Many thanks. Quote
Paul Ked Posted June 1, 2007 Report Posted June 1, 2007 The 3 S/S terminals are connected together internally so, yes, you can use any of them. As to why there are 3, I'd guess that Mitsi just wanted to use up the terminals? Your understanding of the COM and Y Groupings is correct. As the unit you have has relay outputs, you can use whatever voltage you like (up to a max of 240VAC or 30VDC) on the COM terminals or, indeed, a mixture of voltages if you need to. Hope this helps Regards Paul Ked Quote
Chapapa Posted June 1, 2007 Author Report Posted June 1, 2007 Thank you for clarifying my doubts. :D Quote
Guest aprendis Posted June 13, 2007 Report Posted June 13, 2007 Those three terminals are to select positive logic or negative logic, does not have another function, if you want to work in 24V or 0V only put a jamp in sink or source terminal. Quote
Paul Ked Posted June 13, 2007 Report Posted June 13, 2007 I guess it might be an idea to have a 'Solved' or 'Closed' marker when the problem is sorted?!?! Paul Ked Quote
