Crossbow Posted June 21, 2007 Report Posted June 21, 2007 With the FX2N, you can use the FX2N-CNV-BD and FX2NC-ENET-ADP to connect the PLC to Ethernet. Keep in mind this is basically a serial to Ethernet converter, and it will make the PLC accessible in the latest versions of GX Developer. If you have older software, you will need a software package like Serial-IP from Tactical Software to convert a serial port number on your PC to Ethernet. Also keep in mind with Ethernet, that networks, ports, and subnets can be blocked by firewalls and routers, so be sure that two devices on the two networks can already see each other, like share a folder on 2 PCs, or a printer. Most facilities I've been in will block communications they don't know from passing from one network to another. Quote
