Profibus status bit

Hi Fellows, I want to know whether there is any status bit (internal) in S7 for each profibus station so that we can monitor and trigger alarm showing certain station is not communicate thru profibus. Or is that any OB have to be create? for now i m using toggling bit from Inverter to give sign that inverter is communicating but for example MKS display it cant give any status/bit to S7 cpu. regards dsc

Hi dsc. There is a sample project on Siemens support site with how you make diagnostics with Profibus and displaying it on the HMI. There are two examples, one comprehensive with using a standard block, FB125, and one more simple using the standard block FC125. The comprehensive block gives detailed information down to what module failed on which station with a meaningful error description. The simple block more or less just say 'OK' or "not OK' for each node. I am not home at the moment so you may have to search for the sample project yourself. Jesper.
