BITS N BYTES Posted July 20, 2007 Report Posted July 20, 2007 Anyone know of a simple method to protect a CX-Designer program from being accessed? I have tried to acces "FILE" "Data Transfer Security" from the CX-Designer menu but the options are always greyed out and cannot be selected???? I would like to protect my CX-Designer program in a similar fashion available in CX-Programmer "PLC Properties" "Protection". Any ideas/suggestions?? Currently using CX-Designer Version 2.032 with firmware Version 6.2 on an Model NS-10 TV0[]-V1.
PdL Posted July 20, 2007 Report Posted July 20, 2007 Never used it but it seems more like a hardware feature rather than a project file security protection. I checked and it becomes available from system version 6.6, also with V1 hardware. To upgrade the NS to system version 6.6, see program folder manual "How to recover or update the system prog. Ver6.6". For disk file security I would compress the project files using WinRAR with password protection and toss the individual project files.
BITS N BYTES Posted July 20, 2007 Author Report Posted July 20, 2007 Thanks PDL. As I explained I had figured out how to access the Data Transfer Security Selections and read the manual. What I did not understand is they were greyed out and could not be selected due to the Firmware version. Will upgrade to 6.6 and try it out.
