We have Telemecanique XBT-VB terminal with XBT-VE monitor. We like to replace that old monitor with new tft display. Video connector is 9-pin d-sub, here's the pin arrangement from the XBT-VB manual: 1. 0V, common 2. 0V, common 3. Red 4. Green 5. Blue 6. C, Active (12V) or Inactve control (0V) 7. Video or composite video * 8. Horizontal sync. (or composite)* 9. Vertical sync. (or not used)* *Depending on the configuration of the screen used Video signals: -Sweep frequence: Horizontal(line): 15.625 KHz, Vertical(frame): 50 Hz -Video signal: positive analog signal with negative sync. signal (0V) -RGB signals: positiva analog signals -Horizontal sync. signal: positive or negative analog signal -Vertical sync. signal: positive analog signal -Composite sync. signal: positive or negative analog signal -Control signal (validation): active (12V) or inactive (0V) Composite video signal from this equipment is monochrome, so we can't use that. How we make this work, we tried to get picture with TV and tft monitor with no result.

Hi, I tried to do it some years ago and i never succeded. This terminal is completely obsolete and you should replace it with a new product. In my humble opinion it's a better choice for the future. JC

Now i tried it with epson projector, and that works just fine. It was connected from telemecanique D-SUB 9 to projector D-SUB 15 vga connection. Projector had RGB input on. Now i have to find small tft screen witch works same way.

Ok it works but as you certainly know the application is not in the screen but in the VB part. What if the main terminal fail eventually ? your new screen will be useless. This device is not sold anymore since at least 10 years. In addition it wasn't a common product at all so it will be very difficult to find one to replace yours if it fails. Once again to me its an hazardous bet to keep these old terminals. JC

Yes you're right. Actually we have one unused XBT-VB terminal also. If that works as long as this old one (at least 20 years), i think it might be good idea to replace the monitor. Edited by anhar
