mikey431 Posted November 12, 2007 Report Posted November 12, 2007 I have S7-314 cpu with 64 kb memory card. I was trying to update my code ( only 1 floating number in one of the FC blocks) and prepared to download. Suddenly, i got low memory message and it wont let me download. Now i stuck with unmatched copy of this FC and i neither can't go online or download it on top of old FC. Is there anyway i can free up some memory or is there any trick to get PLC to accept the download ? Quote
JesperMP Posted November 12, 2007 Report Posted November 12, 2007 Hi Mikey. 1st investigate if the problem is with the MMC card (load memory) or RAM (work memory). In Simatic Manager, right-click the CPU, and then select PLC and Information and then the memory tab. If the MMC is to blame, then you have to get a bigger one. If the RAM is to blame, then try to see if there are dormant code or DB blocks. Use the cross reference to do this. If you have found some blocks you want to get rid of, then go online via the "accessible nodes" and delete the block(s) from this window. Also delete the same blocks in the offline project. If there is no blocks you can delete, then the procedure is the same, only this time you switch the PLC to stop mode first, Then you delete the FC you want to exchange online first, and thereafter you download the modified FC from the offline project.
