Chris Elston Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 Someone want to take a stab at helping this plant manager out? Got an e-mail from him. Jerry Warning (jwarning@milltown.com) on Monday, April 7, 2008 at 10:45:19 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- question_new: other comments: We are running simatic/protool v5.2. We had a hard drive crash. We went to the manufaturer that supplied the machine and the computer that operates our machine and asked them for a copy of the soft ware to load on a new hard drive. We have done that but now a message comes up that it is a demo version. When I contacted them about this , they told us to go to Authors W to get a license for this. Can some one help guide me through this to get his taken care of the right way. My knowledge about this is very limited so the easier you can make this, the better it will be. Thank you in advance for your help. Jerry L. Warning Converting Plant Mnager
Crossbow Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 I would contact Siemens directly, they can walk him through the licensing process providing he has the original licensing disk or can prove ownership.
Mike Dyble Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 And then have a look at a recent thread regarding back-ups, however I am not sure if Acronis will back-up harddrives with AuthorSW software, I have only used it with Automation License Manager keys which Acronis will back up.
