I've got a few applications that need a simple relay closure based off of a setpoint on a 4-20mA input. I don't really want a PLC just to read an analog input and turn on a relay. I hunted through the Phoenix modules, sure that they would have something, but didn't find one. Does anyone know of a module or a simple way to do this?

How about this? http://www.actionio.com/support/datasheets...1080_ap1090.pdf Paul

I use the CPA from Moore industries alot. I like the fact that they are configured with a PC, you have lots of options, deadband, high alarm, low alarm etc..... you pick. Plus they also supply loop power for the instruments. http://www.miinet.com/products/data_sheets/cpa.pdf

Weidmuller also have a few different types of process relays: http://signalconditioning.weidmuller.com/process-alarms.html

If Zone 2 is close to US class 1 Div 2, where nonincendive devices are authorized, there won't be such an animal. The restrictions for electronics for zone 2 is that they not have any relay contacts which are arcing, sparking devices. Solid state switches can pass, but not electromechanical contacts.

I stand corrected. Mr. White is certainly correct that hermetically sealed electromechanical relays qualify for US Class 1 Div 2 hazardous areas. I'd forgotten about the pressure switches I've used several times that were so constructed. Dan

Yeah Dan - problem is that none of the devices listed here have hermetically sealed contacts. I guess even if they did they may opt for not going for the certification. Did a quick search and couldnt find one. So maybe we are both right...Its possible just not available. Russell
