ECSI Posted October 9, 2008 Report Posted October 9, 2008 This kinda relates to some of our PLC projects..... http://www.linuxkungfu.org/images/fun/geek/project.jpg
BobLfoot Posted October 9, 2008 Report Posted October 9, 2008 That sums up my day - today. Production Manager - "I am shutting down this line the Dater has failed 6 times in the past four hours, given us no error code and not shut down the line as it should, fix the dater or we shut down the process." Two Hours Later after I "babysat" the machine every minute. - The Dater has four faults, all messaged as "Product too close alarm" The Dater does have a bad communications board, but since we are making good product Production won't stop to let me replace it. Oh and why are we getting product too close. Turns out operators are lodaing the packages backward into the feed magazine. Why are they loading backwards - because they came that way from the vendor. Final resolution - At shift change we replaced the communications board and operators have been tasked to inspect incoming product.
JeffKiper Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 Bob You got to love the "I am going to ...." or the "we can't stop can you fix it as we run?" Why is it always our fault that Paul the packer flipped the box around and we have to fix it? Life is good in the support world.
Chris Elston Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 My favorite come back line: "Can't you just.....?"
Clay B. Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 (edited) That hits real close to home. My favorite from my sales department "I do not understand why that would cost extra" Edited October 16, 2008 by Clay B.
