sparkotronic Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 Hi, I'm doing a project in work at the moment and I've been forced into using the 200 range. I've never used these before and I've a few questions if anyone can spare the time to answer! I'm using an analog input, what does it use as the input? is it 4-20mA or 0-10V or can I use either? I've noticed on another program that I've been looking at, they use V's and VW's are these? Do you use these in MicroWin instead of M and MW's? Thanks in advance! Colin.
Crossbow Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 The input type depends on the hardware type. Siemens offers both voltage and current inputs. Are you referring to the 224XP (not 214)? If so, it has -10 to +10VDC inputs built in. And it uses AIW for analog input words and AQW for analog output words. Visit http://www.siemens.com/s7-200 and download the manual for the S7-200.
sparkotronic Posted February 25, 2009 Author Report Posted February 25, 2009 (edited) Hi, I managed to work it out as AIW0 at 0-10 v I still find using V's instead of M's a bit confusing, you have to wonder why they do it???? Now I've managed to put together a scaling block it's all systems go. Regards, Colin Edited February 25, 2009 by sparkotronic
