Pretorianer Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 hi, my company bought a Q02U PLC and für Visualisation an E1060 which is connecte to the plc over RS232 - The E1060 is connected to the Internet. Now to our problem: We want to connect to the PLC over the Internet (over the E1060) - our Mitsubishi contact told us that this is only possible if we use a third party programm like "COM/IP" , but this is not freeware and I dont want to use 3re party programms if its not absolutely necessary. Did somebody find a proper solution for this problem? And when please keep in mind that I'm a beginner for Mitsu systems so please explain me step by step. Thanks for your help cheerio Stefan
Gambit Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 You should have bought the Q03UDECPU with integrated ethernet the price difference is only about 300 euro. If you don't you'll have to rely on third party software. I think TIBBO is freeware.
Crossbow Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 The third party software is a good way to go, I am not sure why you are opposed to it. If the PLC had Ethernet, as was suggested by Gambit, you could get directly into it. But basically you are asking a serial package (GX) to tunnel through an Ethernet connection. That's where the COM/IP software comes in. GX does support Ethernet, but for direct connection to the PLC, not to the E-terminal.
