JeffKiper Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 In 5000 Is it possible to story Documentaion on a CP that ia also being used as Memory for the PLC? I have a few customers that can't keep print of any kind. I almost hate going there just because I have to print another set of prints just to troubleshoot. So can i use the CP in the CompactLogix L32 or 35, Some of the L6# family as well. I hope this makes since to someone else it has been loong day.
Ken Roach Posted December 9, 2009 Report Posted December 9, 2009 No, there's no option to save a compete RSLogix 5000 *.ACD file via RSLogix 5000. Most CompactFlash cards in a controller have a lot of unused capacity, so I just put the CF card into a PCMCIA Type II adapter (has anyone seen mine? I swear it was in with the memory sticks) and save the commented *.ACD file, whatever PanelView and drive files I have, EDS files for drives or unusual devices, and PDFs of system drawings into a separate folder on the card. As long as you leave the card formatted for FAT16, the controller should have no problem reading and writing its files. Maybe in the future the CF card will be accessible via FTP and the Ethernet module, but not today.
JeffKiper Posted December 9, 2009 Author Report Posted December 9, 2009 Ken the after I read my question again, boy it was cloudy. Your second responce was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks I never thought about EDS files. I guess I have to much faith in my software that it will just be there. Not a bad idea.
