BenPLC Posted March 1, 2011 Report Posted March 1, 2011 Hi, I'm new to Omron PLC's (experience with AB and some Mitsubishi, though). I am trying to do a basic thing . . . but I want to run this by the more experienced programmers on this forum to ensure I've got it right: I need to upload a program from a Symac CPM1-10CDR-A. From what I've gathered on the online manuals: Here's what I need to do: 1. connect to the PLC peripheral (via cable CQM1-C1F02) 2. open a blank program in CX-One with the Com settings: Start bit:1/ Data bits:7/ stop bits:2/ parity:even/ baud rate:9600 3. Go online (or Auto online) 4. Keep PLC in Run mode 5. Upload. 6. Save to the laptop for offlline work. Done Can someone verify that this will get the program on my laptop so I can troubleshoot it offline? Also, will this give me the bit comments? Finally, are there any steps I need to take to ensure this does not interfere with the existing PLC? Thank you very much, Rob
gtsuport Posted March 1, 2011 Report Posted March 1, 2011 This should do the trick. You will not get the bit comments. CPM1 (from memory) does not have on board memory to store comments. You can try Auto Online, however, I have had some issues with it. I usually set up the Change PLC dialog manually. As posted on PLCs.net, you will have to back up the DM area separately if you want that data. This can be done using the Memory selection from the Project tree. Hope this will help.
