Guest Michael Thomas Wolf Posted September 4, 2002 Report Posted September 4, 2002 I am interested in learning about the siemens plc. I am very familiar with the AB PLC's. What I would like is to learn more about the siemens for my job. Can anyone direct me to any sites that have this information for basic to advanced. Regards Michael Thomas Wolf :-8 Quote
Guest PSmith307 Posted September 16, 2002 Report Posted September 16, 2002 I had the need to learn S7 programming fast about 2 years ago due to a customer requirement. I took the week-long S7 level 1 programming course offered by Siemens and caught on quickly. It is a good class. You just need the instruction set basics, which is what this class contains. If you are currently using AB, as I was, you will be absolutely amazed at the custom function block capability if Step7! It is powerful stuff. Good Luck. Quote

don Posted October 24, 2002 Report Posted October 24, 2002 Talk to your Siemens rep and ask for the "Berger" book. It's a hardback book called "Automating with Step 7 in LAD" by Hans Berger. It's also got a floppy with examples on it. My local rep gave to me. Quote
