Hi fellas... I'm trying hard to get a M-340 plc's serial port to talk with the serial port on an XBTOT2110. Problem is that the 2110's user guide is't sufficiently explicit. So far, I've configured the M340's serial port as Modbus Slave No. 1 on RS-485, with default comm parameters (ie.19,200, even,1). Likewise I've configured COM-2 on the OT2110 on RS-485 with the same parameters. The driver selected is Modbus-RTU. The PLC is also declared as Modbus-equipment01 on this driver with a slave-ID of 1. Mind you, COM2 is a DB-9 male connector having RS-422 signals. Since I'm using RS-485 I've shorted the pins 1 & 3 (RDA+,SDA+) to make the D+ signal. Likewise I've shorted the pins 2 & 7 (RDB-, SDB-)on the DB-9 connector to form the D- signal. D+ & D- are then connected to pins 4 & 5on the M-340's RJ45 jack. This arrangement does not work. Please help me out with a diagram to show how the OT2110s port may be configured forr RS-485 use. regards, best wishes, R. S. Iyer COM2 OT2110.bmp

How are you doing? Firstly congrats on winning the world cup. Ive been away from my office for a long time now. What does the xbtot2110 look like? I cannot find anything about it. Maybe its given that part number in Asia. The closest that I know of is the xbtgt2110. What software do you use to program it? Regards
