Siemens S7-200 using Prodave protocol

I know that this is an easy question for Siemens programmers, but I have not been able to determine the answer. My question is: will a 3rd party HMI with a driver written for an S7-300 using Prodave protocol work with an S7-200? If so, is there anything to lookout for (different command set, different memory areas, different data types, etc)? Thank you in advance. PMCR

I believe the serial protocol on the S7-300 is MPI, where the protocol on the S7-200 is PPI.
