Veganic Posted July 4, 2011 Report Posted July 4, 2011 I've uploaded a program with GX developer from a FX1 PLC. It has the following line: -|M8000|-------MOV D100 D100. The only thing I can think is maybe it has been compiled in IEC developer? This form is repeated in a few places in the program. Can anyone think of a reason for this line of code?
panic mode Posted July 5, 2011 Report Posted July 5, 2011 hmmmm.... perhaps the programmer wanted to see value of D100 without having to open device batch monitor etc.
Steve Etter Posted July 5, 2011 Report Posted July 5, 2011 Another possibility would be that the line is a place-holder. The programmer might have figured he would need to come back and route various values but didn't have enough info to do it then and there. By writing one of these each time he came across such a situation, he entered that line so it would be easy to locate and update the code later. Steve
Crossbow Posted July 6, 2011 Report Posted July 6, 2011 If it was a newer model and D1000, I would say file registers. But not applicable to that old unit. FX1S and FX1N yes.
Veganic Posted July 6, 2011 Author Report Posted July 6, 2011 Nothing definitive then. Thanks for the replies.
