KAZAH Posted October 15, 2011 Report Posted October 15, 2011 Tokyo, October 5, 2011 – Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (TOKYO: 6503) announced today that Mitsubishi Electric Automation, Inc., its 100% subsidiary selling industrial automation equipment in the U.S., has made a 19.9% equity investment in the U.S. software company ICONICS to enable Mitsubishi Electric to incorporate ICONICS’ supervisory-control and data-acquisition (SCADA) software in factory and process automation solutions primarily for new social infrastructure opportunites in emerging markets. But what about CITECT.
Crossbow Posted October 15, 2011 Report Posted October 15, 2011 I found this odd too, since a couple years ago Japan announced a partnership with Wonderware. Doesn't Citect already have a big relationship with Schneider? I don't know that MEAU has ever done anything with Citect.
KAZAH Posted October 15, 2011 Author Report Posted October 15, 2011 SCADA MX4=CITECT only driver for Mitsubishi
Crossbow Posted October 16, 2011 Report Posted October 16, 2011 If you read the headline, it was Mitsubishi Electric Automation, Inc. that purchased this. That is the US division, not Japan. So I doubt this will have any affect on what Mitsubishi Europe does.
