rainman Posted February 12, 2012 Report Posted February 12, 2012 Hi all, I have an old S5-100U. Its status now is STOP (red LED) and the battery low (ORANGE LED) is lit too. This PLC hasn't power ON for 4-5 years which I guess the battery is drained. Under Istack1, I have STOZUS,STOANZ,NEUSTA and under interrupts I have PEU and BAU. On the CPU itself, there is an "empty slot", is that supposed to be an EEPROM module? Do I need it? Or I can clear the fault just by replacing the battery? Currently it is able to communicate with PG2000 with upload/downloads working, but when the power is reset, my PBs are gone. Sorry for the noob questions. Thanks. Quote
Moggie Posted February 12, 2012 Report Posted February 12, 2012 (edited) Change the battery - Lithium 3.6V The program is held in RAM and the battery is for back up of the RAM. With a dead battery when you power off you will loose the program. The empty slot is for a an EPROM but you do not need it it if the Battery is good. I hope you have a back up of the program? PEU = Expansion module not connected • I/O bus malfunction • Maximum length of shift register exceeded • Module unknown • Module in wrong slot BAU = - Battery is missing or dead and there is no valid program available on the memory submodule STOANZ = PLC in STOP STOZUS = Internal control bit for STOP/RUN change NUSTA = PLC not yet in cycle after Power ON Edited February 12, 2012 by Moggie Quote
rainman Posted February 12, 2012 Author Report Posted February 12, 2012 Thank you moggie, that really clear some of my doubts. Yeah, very fortunately I do have the hard copy of the printout. Quote
