zahari NMB Posted April 21, 2012 Report Posted April 21, 2012 Hi, guys I'm trying to upload or download program from CPM1A-40CDR-D-V1, but still does not work. PLC : CPM1A-40CDR-D-V1 Expansion: CPM1A-8ER Software : CX-Programmer V4.03 Interface Unit : CPM1-CIF01 USB to Serial (RS-232) Prolific Quote
BobB Posted April 21, 2012 Report Posted April 21, 2012 I do not know about the Prolific converter - some work some do not - I use the Omron one. It is probable your serial cable is incorrect - Omron do not use a standard serial cable. Here is a link to the correct cable http://forums.mrplc.com/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=74 Quote
zahari NMB Posted April 22, 2012 Author Report Posted April 22, 2012 most laptops currently no rs-232 port, this means that if I buy CPM1-CIF02 (USB to Programmer Control) should I change the wire pin (male socket 20 pin) Quote
BobB Posted April 22, 2012 Report Posted April 22, 2012 No - there are many cable configurations in the file - use C200HS-CN220-EU and make your own. I suggested that the Prolific USB/serial cable may or may not work. I use the Omron CS1W-CIF31 USB/serial converter - it works with every PLC I have ever connected - not cheap but is tested and works. Quote
zahari NMB Posted April 22, 2012 Author Report Posted April 22, 2012 so, if I use CS1W-CIF31 USB/serial converter , I still need to use CPM1-CIF01. Order as follows:- Laptop (CX-Programmer V4.03) + CS1W-CIF31 USB/serial converter(c/with driver) + CPM1-CIF01 + CPM1A-40CDR after this I can upload file 'CX-Programmer Project' Quote
zahari NMB Posted April 22, 2012 Author Report Posted April 22, 2012 which one cable, do you mean 'C200HS-CN220-EU'.... this plc on workbench only (modul for class project). I think no need extension wire Quote
Jay Anthony Posted April 22, 2012 Report Posted April 22, 2012 As Bob said, you still need the cable. Quote
Jay Anthony Posted April 22, 2012 Report Posted April 22, 2012 I know you can plug your Prolific adapter into the CPM1-CIF01. But the pins do not match electrically. You still need the C200HS-CN220-EU cable. Get out your soldering pencil and make one! Quote
