chas183 Posted June 7, 2012 Report Posted June 7, 2012 Does anyone have a good recomendation for a serial bluetooth adapter? What I would like to accomplish is to download perameters to a Sick scanner from my laptop. Would a Bluetooth serial adapter at my DB9 (Laptop) be needed and another at the Sick? Is it possible to use the internal Bluetooth (Laptop) with a purchased serial to Bluetooth adapter? Currently looking at this device Iogear GBS301 Bluetooth Adapter Kindest Regards, Chas183 Quote
BobB Posted June 8, 2012 Report Posted June 8, 2012 Promi have one - I use them with my Omron PLCs. You may need to check that there is 5VDC on the appropriate pin though to power the 232 side. Have had up to 7 PLCs connected while I was sitting out in the barbeque area of a client smoking and drinking coffee - no one had a clue what I was doing - good that way. Quote
chas183 Posted June 8, 2012 Author Report Posted June 8, 2012 Do you have a part number or a place to purchase? Kindest Regards, Chas183 Quote
BobB Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 Omron sell them - I think it is the SD202 - good for 100 metres. You either need to plug in the power supply or have 5V on one of the pins. Here is a link to a manual. http://sena.com/download/manual/manual_promi_esd-v2.0.0.pdf Quote
