eflorey Posted July 11, 2012 Report Posted July 11, 2012 Is is possible to use more than one tag name to set object visibility, without the need to write additional code in the PLC? What I am wanting to do is mask a radio button unless x OR y conditions are met. I am fairly new to C-More, I was trained using In-Touch.
rlp122 Posted July 12, 2012 Report Posted July 12, 2012 Unfortunately no. Cmore can only use single tags.
eflorey Posted July 12, 2012 Author Report Posted July 12, 2012 Thanks for the reply. I discovered that you can cover the button but its still able to be pressed (odd but ok) so its a moot point.
b_carlton Posted July 12, 2012 Report Posted July 12, 2012 If a control button's visibility is turned off then it won't function. If you only cover it with another item which has switchable visibility then it won't disable it.
eflorey Posted July 12, 2012 Author Report Posted July 12, 2012 (edited) The problem I am running into is this, I have to be very careful with the PLC memory usage as I am working with a very large existing program. I need to create 3 sections of 6 buttons each, in which if one is on the others are off. I also would like these buttons only visible when certain conditions are met. I decided to use Radio buttons and mask out what I didn't want visible, which was a bust. So as much as I can I need to keep from writing extra RLL code to accomplish this. With In-touch I could write scripts to easily do all this, but it seems C-more is very limited in this area. Any ideas or help would be fantastic. Edited July 12, 2012 by eflorey
b_carlton Posted July 13, 2012 Report Posted July 13, 2012 Each platform has its strengths and weaknesses.
eflorey Posted July 13, 2012 Author Report Posted July 13, 2012 I'm not knocking C-More, it's been great to work with it and easy to learn. I was just curious if there was an easier way to do what I needed done.
