Hi, I'm looking for a bit of advice regarding the requirement for arc flash PPE in the UK. In my place of work we have several motor control cubicle's, these require to be removed on occasion for service, repair ect. The question has been asked if we should have to wear PPE when removing MMC's from the cubicle's when they are showing a fault condition. We use GEC Trimline/Mainline and Ottermill Unimet cubicle's. The GEC MCC's have no flash protection from the busbar connector to the MCC fuses. I've never heard of any problems with this and I spoke to someone from Schneider and they were unaware of any problems. Our supply voltage is 415V I simple risk assessment gives a risk rating of 3. Just wondering if anyone else has a set up like this and what they do?
