nibsy342 Posted September 23, 2012 Report Posted September 23, 2012 Good afternoon all - I am new to the forum and hoping that maybe someone can help with an issue please? I need to use a photo-electric sensor to detect the presence of a label on a pot as it exits the labeller. The label is a clear adhesive backed wrap-around type, with either blue or brown printing. The label is applied to a glass jar which is painted a gloss white. Any help or suggestions gratefully received.
Chris Elston Posted September 23, 2012 Report Posted September 23, 2012 If you can post a picture of it, that might be helpful. At least for me.
nibsy342 Posted September 23, 2012 Author Report Posted September 23, 2012 I can maybe get a picture uploaded in a day or two.
trespaser5 Posted September 24, 2012 Report Posted September 24, 2012 Hi, I don't know if this helps but we have a reflective sensor that detects the colour of the reflected light of the object it shines upon, it can tell between a red and grey box, at least that's application we use it for, if you think that'd be helpful I could find out some more from you, however I'm pretty sure it's form Omron so go to industrial.omron.eu and look at their colour mark detection sensors. http://industrial.omron.eu/en/products/catalogue/sensing/fiber_optic_sensors/fibers-special_objects_or_installations/e32_special_application/default.html
OkiePC Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 (edited) Tri-Tronics has a nice sensor for this application. Very fast and reliable. http://www.ttco.com/industrial.aspx I have used the Markeye Pro, and Smart Eye Pro with great results, very trouble free. We used one of their older color sensors too, the color was "taught" and automatic setup worked quite well. WoW. This one is new: http://www.ttco.com/...rial/xp-10.aspx Edited September 26, 2012 by OkiePC
Bob O Posted October 20, 2012 Report Posted October 20, 2012 I have used Sick Luminescence scanners for labels that had a variety of colors and printing. The label had to have certain properties for this to work and ours did and this worked like a charm. Here is a link......http://www.sickcn.com/media/3357/LUT3%20DATA%20SHEET.pdf
