I don't know if this is already known, but Mitsubishi Europe is now providing a solution for end users who want to use Profinet. The solution is rather "custom-made" in a sense that Mitsubishi Japan hasn't developed a Profinet master card but instead Mitsubishi is offering a profinet solution based on the C-cpu (the ME1PN1FW-CCPU profinet master card). They also offer GX Configurator PN, which is basically GX Configurator DP but for Profinet. Again, Mitsubishi's main focus is on CC Link IE for ethernet based bus systems but similar to Profibus, they now offer a solution for those who wish to use Profinet.

Has anyone had any experience with solutions from Icc designs? They have developed the profinet cards (mutliprotocol cards) for the Mitsubishi frequency converters (A7N-ETH). I suppose they are an american company? Reliable products? Also, as a coincidence, they seem to have developed the Ethernet/IP firmware for the Q12Ccpu (which was mentioned earlier in this thread). Since the profinet solution is considered expensive, i was wondering: are people using Mitsubishi going to keep using profibus as bus system in the future? Any interest in ethernet based netwerks within the factory floor? How do you see this evolve in the future? Edited by Mitsu
