phuz Posted November 19, 2012 Report Posted November 19, 2012 Our customer has an Intouch node running 9.5. It is a standalone node and I VNC into the machine to make changes. Lately, this error has been popping up "C:\InTouchDev\....\....\vukey.c Line xxxx" and the only article I have found about it is this: >>>> System: Wonderware InTouch version 7.11 patch 6 on Advantech rack mounted PC communicating through Applicom Fast DDE/Suitelink Server to Siemens S7 316 PLC. Error: The InTouch operator interface uses wonderware 'keytrap' to provide security on the system (preventing alt-tab and ctrl-alt-del). When logged onto the operator interface as a supervisor, keytrap can be disabled by hotkeys (configured into the operator interface). With keytrap disabled the user can alt-tab (to switch between applications) or alt-esc to bring up the start menu. Intermittently, the alt-tab causes an assertion error with the dialog window displaying " vukey.c error ". Solution: Wonderware document this as being a known bug when using alt-tab to move between Windowmaker and Windowviewer. The solution is a procedural one, don't use alt-tab, just use alt-esc to bring up the windows taskbar to move between applications, and document it in Engineering and Maintenance SOPs(Standard Operating Procedures) as applicable. >>>> We are not using any alt-tab or anything. I only use the UltraVNC command to issue a CTRL-ESC from time to time. Could UltraVNC be causing the issue anyway?
