nrm13 Posted March 22, 2013 Report Posted March 22, 2013 I have been trying to update an oldler HMI program. When I pull the program off the HMI onto my laptop it will give a runtime error when I try to open it. My laptop is running CX-Designer Version 3.5 The program will open on my desktop which is running CX-Designer version 3.1 I was wondering if there was a way to make the program run on the new version?
Jay Anthony Posted March 22, 2013 Report Posted March 22, 2013 Do you have both the project file folder and the project.ipp file on your desktop? If so navigate in Designer 3.5 to the desktop and try opening from the Desktop.
nrm13 Posted March 22, 2013 Author Report Posted March 22, 2013 Yes i've tried it that way but still gives a runtime error
Jay Anthony Posted March 23, 2013 Report Posted March 23, 2013 Zip both the project file folder and the project.ipp file on your desktop and post it here. We'll look at it.
nrm13 Posted March 25, 2013 Author Report Posted March 25, 2013 The Project is larger than the 3.91 MB allowed, even when zipped. I was able to use my desktop(with the older software) to transfer the program to the HMI using ethernet, but I am still curious as to why it wouldnt run on the newer software. Thanks,
