TheDribbler Posted May 1, 2013 Report Posted May 1, 2013 Hello, I am struggling with getting a barcode reader to read in via either Port A or B on an NSJ8-TV01-M3D. I have connected a scanner into Port C successfully and can see the results in DM. But I need to connect a second scanner as there is a requirement for two scanners. I have seen this working on another project, but this was just one scanner connected to Port B. Is there a problem here? I have tried copying the code and converting to suit my setup, but as yet no joy. I am using the WRITEHOSTW macro in Project Properties + SETFOCUS as per the original. Also I have found that a Temporary Input is being used. The scanner connection cable is the same as I have used to read into Port C, I'm assuming it's the same for Port A or B. Is this making sense to anybody? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
Jay Anthony Posted May 3, 2013 Report Posted May 3, 2013 The NSJ HMI is really a PLC and an HMI in the same box. Port A and B are part of the HMI. Port C is part of the PLC. You are probably using the RXD instruction for the PLC Port C using CX Programmer. You will need to set Port B in the HMI side for Barcode Reader using CX Designer.
