ahsan1820 Posted May 6, 2013 Report Posted May 6, 2013 I have two AB SLC5/05 PLC .Both PLC's have seperate AIC+ and port 3 of AIC+ is for their communication to the network.Their communication fails some times and then reestablishes by itself.I have doubt on the cable at port 3 between these AIC+,the length is 60 foot which is allowable, but the resistance it is showing is 280 ohms in each wire is that ok .please tell me how can I check if there is such an issue
Mickey Posted May 6, 2013 Report Posted May 6, 2013 Is that value of resistance with the wire disconnected from both AIC's? If so that is a lot of resistance for 60 ft of wire. Can you lay a new wire just to check?
ahsan1820 Posted May 7, 2013 Author Report Posted May 7, 2013 it is resistance of two wire cores with disconnected from both sides.i have checked wires by shorting them from one side and measure from multimeter at other end
Mickey Posted May 7, 2013 Report Posted May 7, 2013 (edited) Are there any terminations along the way? What size wire are you using? It still sounds like a high value for 60 ft to me. http://www.cirris.com/testing/resistance/wire.html Edited May 7, 2013 by Mickey
