Melsecnet/mini and the FX2N

Hi, I've got a bunch of melsecnet/mini remote i/o languishing around and I'm wondering if I can use it with an FX2N. I've found the FX0N-16NT interface, but it seems you can't set that up as "master". I'm assuming that the net can't work without a master? Thanks! Larry

If I remember correctly (old bus...) the FX series does not have a master, only slaves. And yes, you will need a master in your network.

Net/Mini was for rack based PLCs. No MELSECNET of any kind can be mastered from FX. Net/Mini is the only one the FX could even slave on.

Too bad, but thanks! I thought I could use these to automate the house, but I don't really wanna use the A1S to do it.

Look for some I/O Link stuff, that's obsolete and you might be able to find it cheap.
