schjoh86 Posted June 3, 2013 Report Posted June 3, 2013 Morning all, I ran into a little dilemma here at work today that I could use some advice on. We have a machine loaded with older servo drives and motors, the MR-J series Drives to be exact. We had a MR-J60A go bad today that we are sending out for repair, but in the mean time, we have a MR-J100A that we are trying to figure out if we could put that in, in its place as a temp solution. I've never hooked a larger servo drive up to a smaller servo motor before. I've oversized and inverter a few times before with a smaller motor and gotten more power out of it, but I dont' know how that would work with a servo setup. Here are the details, any thoughts, ideas, opinions would be greatly appreciated. Infeed power - 208VAC 3ph 60Hz Motor - HA-FE63 Bad Drive - MR-J60A-UL Hopeful Temp Replacement - MR-J100A-UL Thanks!
Crossbow Posted June 3, 2013 Report Posted June 3, 2013 Motors and amps are matched pairs, so only the 60 amp can run the 63 motor.
plcfreak Posted June 16, 2013 Report Posted June 16, 2013 Be careful of this. Recently I ordered an MR-J370T with an HF-SP502 Motor and when I Connected them i got AL51. Motor combination error. Mitsubishi Preload Motor parameters to the drive to make it easier for tuning
Crossbow Posted June 20, 2013 Report Posted June 20, 2013 This has NOTHING to do with 'preloaded motor parameters'. As clearly indicated in the manual, the HF-SP502 is to be used with the MR-J3-500T. You can't drive a 5kW motor with a 700w amplifier!
