Siemens S5 Counter Module Programming 6ES5 385-8MB11

I have a Siemens S5-100U CPU and need to install a Counter Module 6ES 385-8MB11 in slot 7 and connect an encoder. I have the manual for the module but it provides limited information. Anyone with experience in programming/connecting this module assistance would be appreciated.

Here is the link for the S5 100 Manual. http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/1091978 Look at section 15.6.2 for the information concerning the data exchange between the CPU and the Counter card. Section 15.6.6 describes the addressing of the card - For slot 7 the address will be PII AND PIQ 120 to 127 Hope this helps. Steve
