John Barry Posted July 12, 2013 Report Posted July 12, 2013 I have a auto reset set up using the Date/Time comparison function that requires the part detect sensors to be checked at the beginning of every shift. The problem arises when the time changes for daylight savings time and I have to go sync all of the plc clocks with a laptop. Is there a way to do this through an NS series touch screen where the internal PT clock can be used to adjust the PLC clock?
BobB Posted July 12, 2013 Report Posted July 12, 2013 There is a block for that in the Smart Active Parts.Another option is in the download section http://forums.mrplc.com/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=446 and http://forums.mrplc.com/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=588
John Barry Posted July 13, 2013 Author Report Posted July 13, 2013 Thanks BobB. I will give this a try.
BobB Posted July 13, 2013 Report Posted July 13, 2013 John, the Smart Active Part option is the easiest for setting the clock in the PLC from the screen. Just set the screen clock and press the button. The code will do the daylight saving stuff for you as well.
John Barry Posted July 24, 2013 Author Report Posted July 24, 2013 Those worked perfectly and thanks for posts.
John Barry Posted August 3, 2013 Author Report Posted August 3, 2013 Bob, one more question. How do I adjust the function block calculations for the start date and end date for Daylight Savings Time? The function block is calculating that the start date for this year as March 3 when it was actually March 10 and the end date as November 24 when it is actually November 3.
BobB Posted August 3, 2013 Report Posted August 3, 2013 (edited) John - I have no idea as I have never used it. I will have a look at it for you. Here is a link to an explanation - it was written by a friend of mine http://forums.mrplc.com/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=588 Hope this helps Edited August 3, 2013 by BobB
John Barry Posted August 5, 2013 Author Report Posted August 5, 2013 Thanks, Bob. I got it figured out, just had to add 7 to the Start Date calculations. I have attached the modified file if you want to check it out. I also have it where the touchscreen auto updates to the plc clock as well. Daylight Savings Usage.cxp
