I have to make just backup of program so that I can use it in case of PLC failure. what role device memory play ,why should it in uploading menu.
Rodney Posted September 23, 2013 Report Posted September 23, 2013 (edited) The device memory when backed up will contain all values contained in the "D" registers. So in the event that you have a P.L.C failure any D registers that are not written to via the program will be the correct value when you download it to the new P.L.C. if you did not have this data it could take a long time to sort through the program to get the required values in the program.
