jerpvtx Posted November 15, 2013 Report Posted November 15, 2013 I have a Quantum PLC and a 140 NOE 771 00 which has been sitting on my shelf for several years. I need to use it but do not know the IP address of the NOE module. I tried the bootP utility and got no response. How do I determine the address or reset it to factory default?
Geir Posted November 18, 2013 Report Posted November 18, 2013 You could try to hook it up to a network and look at the traffic with Wireshark... Geir
billysmithde2 Posted November 18, 2013 Report Posted November 18, 2013 It usually gets a configuration from the CPU, at least the new ones do. This is old, but I would expect it to get it's IP the same way. When you plugged it in to a backplane, is an NOE configured in that location through the programming software? You might want to try DHCP, but as others have said Wireshark will help determine what the device is doing.
