BITS N BYTES Posted December 8, 2013 Report Posted December 8, 2013 Am replacing older CJ1M PLC's with built in I/O to the CJ2M with the external Pulse I/O module. In both cases High Speed Counters HSC1 [input 6] and HSC0 [input 8] will be used in increment mode. On the CJ1M a note in the manual specifically states that input 7 and 9 CANNOT be used as normal inputs if HSC0 and HSC1 are defined in the PLC setup. On the CJ2M Pulse I./O modules this restriction is not noted. I would like to utilize inputs 7 and 9 as two additional spare inputs one the replacement CJ2M units while retaining HSC1 [input 6] and HSC0 [input8] in the increment mode. Anyone now [for sure] if this can be done. Thnks CJ1M Operation Manual Input Restrictions.pdf CJ2M Pulse IO module Input Restrictions.pdf
Mendon Systems Posted December 8, 2013 Report Posted December 8, 2013 I have a CJ2M-CPU31 application that is using them that way. I have not had any problems with it. If you want to test it just to be safe, load your CJ1M program and force the I/O points On and Off to see if it bothers your application.
BITS N BYTES Posted December 8, 2013 Author Report Posted December 8, 2013 Thanks for quick response. Don't have the hardware available right now but will go with your experience and use these two I/O points for spre I/O.
