250390 Posted June 15, 2014 Report Posted June 15, 2014 Hello, This is my first time programming the CX-Supervisor for a small SCADA monitoring system and all is going well. I am using the Modbus TCP OPC server to communicate to Modbus gateways located in various parts of the factory. Now the factory has two Allen Bradley PLCs which are being used to relay data from a chain of Energy meters on a Modbus RTU ring to an AB factory talk server. I would like to ask if anyone has tried using the Ethernet/IP of CX-Supervisor to communicate with AB Micrologix PLCs. Is this possible please? I appreciate your replies Regards!
PMCR Posted July 12, 2014 Report Posted July 12, 2014 I don't think this will be possible. Rockwell uses the PCCC protocol (AB Specific) wrapped up in EtherNet/IP to talk to MicroLogix PLCs. CX Supervisor would not support this AB specific protocol wrapped up in EIP.
lostcontrol Posted August 30, 2014 Report Posted August 30, 2014 Have you tried using the same ModbusTCP driver? The ML range does support modbusTCP as well.
