BITS N BYTES Posted June 16, 2014 Report Posted June 16, 2014 (edited) How does one populate large amounts of data to DM [Data Memory] using an Excel spreadsheet. I have a ton of preset data associated with multiples recipes that must to be uploaded to the PLC. What is the easiest/recommended method for transferring data from an Excel spreadsheet source to a CX Programmer *.mem file that can be subsequentyl uploaded to the PLC with CX Programmer?? Ideas Please! Edited June 16, 2014 by BITS N BYTES
IO_Rack Posted June 17, 2014 Report Posted June 17, 2014 In your Excel spreadsheet, populate it in columns of 10 (just like the PLC Memory window). The PLC Memory window must be off line (Not Monitoring). Do a simple select and copy from Excel, select your first cell in the PLC Memory window then paste. You can then Transfer to PLC... but again you must be off line. Not sure if this is the easiest method but I'm unaware of any import option other than saving / loading using the *.mem file. 1
Mendon Systems Posted June 17, 2014 Report Posted June 17, 2014 (edited) Neat idea!! I never thought of doing that!! I have used a touchscreen with recipe capability then transferred from there to the PLC but it's somewhat of a pain to do. Edited June 17, 2014 by Mendon Systems
