charlyb Posted July 29, 2014 Report Posted July 29, 2014 Can I safely change the battery in an old Telemaecanique Modicon TSX Nano PLC that has lost its operating program due to a low battery ?. This is from a Heller oven and I need to somehow get the device re-programmed but first need to replace the battery. Thanks in adv. Cb
cHud Posted July 30, 2014 Report Posted July 30, 2014 (edited) You probably could open it and change.....since the program is gone in any-case. Edited July 30, 2014 by cHud
charlyb Posted July 31, 2014 Author Report Posted July 31, 2014 Thanks Sparky --- dont understand the logic unless there is more than one program and there is some way of telling the micro which program to load at startup. Warning :- Anyone out there using Heller ovens should take all the necessary precautions like video'ing the PLC's during start up etc. as they wont give or sell you the program - you need to buy a new PLC or send this unit back for programming at 1/2 the cost. What a HELL........er ova waste of money and time.
cHud Posted July 31, 2014 Report Posted July 31, 2014 The nano plc is an old plc. Its redundant. Is this a new machine?
Crossbow Posted August 1, 2014 Report Posted August 1, 2014 The program isn't lost by a battery. As it clearly shows in the text copied by cHud, the program is in EEPROM. You maye have had more of a hardware failure than a dead battery.
