rcr16210 Posted February 18, 2015 Report Posted February 18, 2015 Hello, I am wondering how many clients I can have connected to a OMRON CJ2 PLC Via Ethernet before it starts to slow down my communication signal. Also, does this number count any HMI's or Safety PLC's or Kepware that is connected to it. Thanks Quote
Mendon Systems Posted February 19, 2015 Report Posted February 19, 2015 The volume of data you are moving over the network and the network itself has a lot more to do with response time than the number of devices involved. If you have time critical communication between PLC's it is better to run them over a separate network from the data hogs like HMI's and Kepware. Quote
rcr16210 Posted February 24, 2015 Author Report Posted February 24, 2015 I agree that the volume of data moving over the network itself has a lot to do with things bogging down. But I am having issues and I do not think it has to do with my actual network. Other programs connected to the same network run fine and have no issues. The minute I connect to the PLC via ethernet/IP and exceed the arbitrary maximum number of clients connecting is when I bogg down the cycle rate of the PLC itself. Just wondering if anyone has had issues like this in the past. Thanks Quote
