rswolff Posted March 31, 2015 Report Posted March 31, 2015 Have an FX3G......GX Developer 8.114U.......tried connecting using a USP-SC09 cable. Sometimes it would say connected and know which processor it was connected to (tranfer setup), but I could never go online (read/monitor).....if in tranfer setup if I used Connection Test, it would say connected 2 or 3 times and the say can't communicate or data error. bobtalbot Posted March 31, 2015 Report Posted March 31, 2015 On a customers laptop years ago the only way I got an SC-09 with a 232-usb converter to work consistently was to lower the baud rate in the transfer setup in GX-DEV. Is this a "3rd party" cable? Quote
JRoss Posted April 1, 2015 Report Posted April 1, 2015 I had that problem a couple of years ago with one of the FX-USB-AW converters from Mitsubishi connecting to an FX3U using some version of GX Developer 8. The connection test said it could see the processor, but I couldn't get online. I finally switched to my trusty 3rd party serial SC09 and a USB to serial converter, and went right online. That was the last time I tried to use the FX-USB-AW. It's still banging around in my bag. I'd recommend just trying another cable. You could just use the mini-USB port on the front of the PLC. I've had patchy success with USB-to-brandXPLC communications cables. I find my trusty USB-to-serial adapter to be more reliable, and I only have to deal with one set of drivers. Plus the basic serial cables are usually cheaper or a duplicate of something I already have. Quote
rswolff Posted April 1, 2015 Author Report Posted April 1, 2015 yes....its a 3rd party USB-SC09-FX cable.........I reloaded GX-Developer but I won't be able to check for about two weeks when I return to client........yes, I could do a USB to Serial converter but I'd also need a standard SC09 which I don't currently have......and I could also try without the converter since my laptop has a serial port (pcmcia slot too!!!!).......and I can try the mini-USB.....didn't have a cable with me and client couldn't locate one in the office....I'll bring a ton of h/w with me when I return....just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing or doing something stupid. Sounds like it could be a driver issue since you both indicate some similar issues.....thanks for the help.... Quote

The driver is allready present when you have installed GX-works2/GX developer software on the harddrive of your laptop. Check this locaton: C:\Program files\EZsocket\Easysocket\USBdrivers If you goolge a little bit there are YouTube movies that shows how to install this driver. Best regards, Theo V.
