johnratholten Posted May 22, 2015 Report Posted May 22, 2015 Hey All, Got a little project going where I want to get a weight number out of a scale indicator into my PLC. I've done a little research on this and it is do-able, just having trouble finding some software for the scale. The scale can be setup to broadcast in MODBUS ASCII, and my PLC (Unitronics) has a FB that lets you "roll your own" communication protocol that should let me grab the broadcast from the scale. The scale is an Avery Weigh-Tronix 1310, and uses a programming software called "1310 SimPoser B", I've seen it used before by a tech from from our local scale supplier, seems to be a derivative of BASIC. I could get the scale guy to come over and make the change for me, but they make it sound like Rocket Science and could cost me up to a $1000 for their tech to type in a few lines of code...... Besides, I like to be in control of my projects and not have to rely on the local tech....... I've done a search and have found instructions for using the software, but I can't seem to find where to get it. (must be some super-secret-scale-guy-only kind of thing).
